Back Tokyo Dark on Kickstarter today!

It's time for another Kickstarter Campaign supported by Collective… This one experienced an incredibly positive response when it was initially pitched on the Collective platform: it's Tokyo Dark! 

There is an urban legend in Japan that, deep below the sewers of Tokyo, there is a door. All who enter are lost forever…

Thus begins the pitch for this 2D point & click adventure game that features a twisting detective story with a deep and branching narrative and has up to 10 different endings. Tokyo Dark combines the cinematic storytelling of Heavy Rain and Shenmu with the gameplay mechanics of Clocktower and The Blackwell Legacy, all wrapped up in a very distinctive anime art style.

While searching for her missing partner, Detective Itō will not only have to confront all manner of nightmares but will also have to face the difficult question: Is this real or am I losing my sanity? While dealing with these issues, you'll also be collecting clues, solving puzzles and making difficult decisions that will determine the outcome of the story. With choices impacting not just those you interact with, but also yourself on a psychological level, how far will you go to solve the case?

CherryMochi, the team behind this dark anime-art-styled adventure game, is looking for $40,000 CAD in funding that will help it complete the project. That's only the initial target of course - reaching subsequent stretch goals will add new chapters and other yet to be revealed features to the final game. You can jump in now and support this game for as little as $12USD / £8 / €11. That will get you a digital copy (PC & Mac!) of Tokyo Dark as well as your name in the credits. Pledging a little bit more will get you increasingly better rewards including, but not limited to, beta access, art and soundtrack downloads, a figurine and more.
