It’s a common question - we know many of you have been eagerly awaiting news about when you can play the game on Nintendo’s console. We’re excited to announce that the supernatural mystery adventure launches for the platform digitally on November 19, 2024!
A physical edition will also be released on January 28, 2025.
The other big question you probably have is: how does the game perform on Switch? The good news is the Switch version has been meticulously ported for the hybrid system, an effort which included rebuilding the lighting system and optimising all of the assets for best performance in both docked and handheld modes, while preserving all of the content and prioritising the quality of the character animations (hence coming a little later than the other versions).

What is Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Life is Strange: Double Exposure is a supernatural murder mystery set in the prestigious Caledon University. You play as Max Caulfield, a young woman who is thrust into a mysterious murder mystery when her best friend Safi is found dead in the snow.
If the name sounds familiar to you, it should. Max was the protagonist of the original Life is Strange. In this new adventure, she’s older and wiser, but still the same smart and introspective young woman she always was. One thing that is new is her supernatural powers.
While she could once rewind time, now Max discovers she has the ability to shift between two different timelines: one where Safi is dead, and another where she remains alive.
Using these powers, Max begins to investigate the murder, and uncover the dark secrets at the heart of the university. Her goal: to solve the murder in one timeline, and prevent it in the other.
What do you do in the game?
As Max, you’ll explore beautiful environments, talking to students and faculty as you investigate the murder of Safi. Your powers are a real boon for detective work, and they offer up all kinds of fun gameplay opportunities too.
For example, as well as jumping between timelines, Max can ‘pulse’ to peer into what’s going on in them, without physically traveling there. This lets you trail people, evesdrop and more - all without anyone knowing.
She can also Shift between the timelines, with the scene changing instantly before your eyes. Facing a locked door, maybe it’s open in the other? Need an object that seems to be missing? See if you can bring back its counterpart in the other timeline. Use information gained in one timeline to extract information in another - the possibilities are many and varied.
You can use your powers beyond the story too, for good or ill. Want to sabotage an obnoxious students’ grade? Maybe not ethical, but deeply cathartic. Or maybe you want to bring something from one reality to buoy up a downcast pal? The powers is in Max’s hands - and yours.
This combination of a gripping story, likeable characters and clever gameplay makes for an adventure that’s utterly gripping.

Three editions are available:
Life is Strange: Double Exposure - gives you the full game. Experience Max’s new adventure as she investigates an impossible murder mystery on the campus of Caledon University.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure Deluxe Edition (digital) - includes the game and two additional outfit packs for Max: the Spooky Outfit Pack and Decades Outfit Pack.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition (digital)- includes the game, five additional outfit packs for Max, (including the FINAL FANTASY VII Outfit pack!), and exclusive cat content in which Max must look after a purrfect pal.
All three editions will be available to purchase digitally from November 19 at 1600 UTC (8am PST, 11am EST, 4pm GMT, 5pm CET)!
A physical edition of the game will be available from January 28, 2025, and is available to pre-order now, with a bonus Steelbook from select retailers.
