Hello Everyone,

As we mentioned in our recent update, we have been monitoring your feedback and understand that a number of you are experiencing technical issues. We’re very sorry to hear this and want to assure you that our team of engineers at Avalanche Studios have been working hard over the last week to correct this.

We are expecting the first Just Cause 4 update for PC to roll out today around 3PM PST. The Just Cause 4 console patches should be ready next week (they take a little more time due to approvals with Microsoft and Sony). Full details on each of the patches can be found below.

Please rest assured that this is just the start of the work we are carrying out. We are prioritizing as best we can, and we are already working on further updates that will come in the New Year.

If the fix you are after is not in the list below please bear with us and we will update you ASAP.

PC Patch

  • Numerous stability fixes
  • Improvements and fixes to menu navigation for mouse and keyboard users
  • Support for remapping of movement keys
  • Improved vegetation rendering and asset updates
  • Fixes to some texture mapping issues
  • Increased mouse sensitivity range
  • Corrected specialized vehicle support for mouse and keyboard players
  • Fixed issue with steering flying vehicles with keyboard
  • Fixed the disabling SSAO option in Graphics menu, which resulted in broken Ambient Occlusion

Please note that this patch will also enable automatic crash reporting to ensure Avalanche can roll out fixes ASAP for any crashes that still happen to occur.

Xbox One & PS4 Patch

For Xbox One & PlayStation 4 we understand that motion blur is a big issue for some of you. We are therefore adding the ability to either alter the amount of blur, and the option to toggle the blur on or off. We have also made an important improvement to the resolution of the game on every platform. The full list of updates to expect are below:

  • Improvements to resolution on both Xbox One and PS4
  • Added a motion blur toggle to the options menu (following user requests)
  • Added the ability to alter the amount of motion blur
  • Fixes to some motion blur rendering issues
  • Fixes to some texture mapping issues
  • Other graphical improvements, such as smoother vegetation transitions
  • Various stability fixes
  • Lighting updates to some cut scenes

I still feel like this game is missing something from the previous just cause games. I don't know what it is but its there. I also miss the pistols from just cause 3 and the ability to re-oppress bases. I have liberated section of the just cause 4 map and it is boring now without many bad guys around.
I am enjoying the game so far but I 100% agree with a lot of the comments and feedback I've seen so far. For example, there is no way to track progress of any kind other then your chaos level and the % of completion in an area. The biggest feedback I've seen and agree with involves the chaos objects. I agree that they should not reappear after they've been destroyed. You dont get that sense of accomplishment like in JC2/JC3 where you can see how many of a chaos object you've destroyed and how many you have left to destroy. I definitely understand wanting to change things and mix up...I just wish it was a mix of JC2/JC3 with the new stunt requirements, chaos leveling up, and squads in JC4.
Trophies still glitched...I wouldn't have bought it if I knew the game was so broken.
This game hasn't the same quality like all her jc games. Wasted money! This game is a example for never changing a running system. The graphics are looking like a vintage filter. No saturation at all. What I really hate is, the game has lost there acarde feeling like in jc3. It's hard to see at which moment I've captured an outpost also after an outpost was captured are the destroyed objects still their in the enemies colors. I guess this game is over and the team will no longer add some changes because the budget has reached there limit
I downloaded the new update and I have the gold expansion pass, however, there is no way to start the Los Demonios challenges. When I updated with the Dare Devils DLC. I had to start a whole new game in order for it to work. Any ideas?
@The_Odd_One_HEKELS - seriously there are so many damn crybaby's
make the dare devils of destruction a bit easier im having trouble getting a s rank on them
A lot of crybaby bitches on here. I have had absolutely no problem with the game. Cant wait for JC5
Please, can we get the ability to turn the HUD off, or at least customise what it shows. Constantly being shown what the buttons do is annoying for one to say the least.
I loved the game series, but it feels like JC4 is a half completed game. The camera is too close to the car when driving, turning right and left can make you dizzy. Please improve the water quality. By far the most annoying thing is that many objects seem weightless. You can drive though crash barriers on roads with a bike with ease. Cars seem to all handle the same, with the only change being how the car accelerates.
When I play Just Cause 4
Why did you release this game in its current state?have your standards changed since just cause 3? That game was beautiful when released, it had a few issues. When I play on PS4 the most annoying thing is the white dots coming through Rico’s head.
Can u add more smoke effects during explosion like that in just cause 3
Can u improve the vehicular damage coz cars won't loose their body bumpers or doors or have any dents when hit like in just cause 3
Can you please fix the achievements please. I have done all the requirements for an achievement and still won’t unlock it.
pls pls pls just work on water , team at Avalanche Studios pls know that the water is so bad and believe that just cause 1 water was much much better than this , Ty
Can u improve water texture and add car physics sply like in just cause 2 if u jump off the cliff. The way car rolls and loses it's body parts... This was missing in just cause 3. Could u get it fixed in just cause 4
Hello good morning, many users on the internet complain about the water, it is very important that you fix the appearance of the water, it is ugly and more typical of the generation of PS2 than of PS4, only with matching the water quality of JUST CAUSE 2 of PS3 , even your improved PC version with dynamic and interactive waves to the boats would be great, thank you very much.
I'll be happy if it looked and played like Just Cause 3, this is one of my all time favourite games, thats why I purchased JC4, but at the moment Just Casue 4 looks and plays like a Playstation 2 game, and not to mention the motion sickness you feel when playing it, especially when you turn left and right makes you dizzy
Fixing the look of the water would be nice and maybe changing the texture of the ground for the frontline battles. The rendering looks bad and is often very laggy. Thank you so much for fixing motion blur though can’t wait to play with the update out.
@KingKillerG - You can do that by changing the grappling hook mod settings. If you are playing on console set everything to None except for the hold dpad. Then u can hold the dpad to control reeling in objects. Sorry if this isn’t very clear.
Since the patch i'm unable to start the game, it finishes loading, then crashes. After using the old exe file from version 1, it manages to load, the graphics issues are fixed, blimp handling is fixed, the new ui controls are there. but i am unable to set the camera sensitivity higher than 100...
Can you make it so when you tether stuff you can reel them in manually
Well thank the gods that you've prioritized fixing motion blur. How about you get started on vehicle handling (getting launched into the sky over NOTHING) or how support drop timers don't reset if you die/fail the objective next?
I understand that fixing the major issues in the game takes priority, but in the near future, will their be a improvment to the Black Hand Weaponized Wingsuit mirroring the Bavarium wingsuit from JC3?
