Update to pre-order charging policies

By Square Enix Team

Hi folks

I’ve got an update regarding the policy of pre-orders on the Square Enix Store, and when you’re charged for them.

We’ve changed the system so that rather than be charged much earlier (which is what happened previously), we now won’t take any money from you until ten working days before the release of the product you’re ordering.

We’ll also send you a reminder email five days before we make the charge, just so you know what’s happening and when.

There are a couple of reasons we’ve made these changes, but primarily it’s because we know people got a bit annoyed at being charged a longer time in advance of release, depending on when pre-orders for a product were made available.

I know some people would prefer to be charged on the actual date of release, but some locations we ship to can take up to seven days for delivery – so once we factor enough time for payments to clear, it means we can still ship products in time to arrive on the day of release (rather than several days later).

I hope that makes sense – if you have any questions about the changes to pre-order charging, please post them in the comments below and I’ll try and get those answered for you.

And, of course, if you fancy testing the pre-order system we have three cracking games that you should be thinking very seriously about:
