Mech Land Assault for Just Cause 3

By Square Enix Team

Hey Everyone, I’m here to tell you about Mech Land Assault – the 2nd expansion to JC3 which see’s our hero Rico take on the evil Black Hand mercenary group on their new island base – oh yeah and you get to pilot a bad-ass Mech too.

As Rico attempts to rescue his native medician kin from the clutches of the Black Hand he will discover they have set up shop in an abandoned eDEN research facility on the prison-island of Lacrima - a brand new 19 square km landmass just north of the current islands of the main game

You may remember eDEN being the vile corporation behind Sky Fortress. The eDEN scientists may be long gone but the Black Hand have been busy making good use of the state of the art mechs that have been abandoned there.

The Mechs themselves (piloted by Black Hand goons) are among the toughest opponents Rico has been pitted against, Highly manoeuvrable, these towering mobile fortresses will shred almost anything you try to hide behind before closing in for a ferocious mechanised ground & pound – if this doesn’t finish you off then the resulting shockwave will shatter you.

If that wasn’t bad enough these Mechs can use their ‘Gravitational Remote Influence Projector’ gravity weapon to haul up nearby objects and hurl them at you – As good as Rico is it’s hard to walk off a tank thrown at your face.

Of course this wouldn’t be Just Cause 3 without the opportunity to turn the tables and hijack a Mech for yourself – then the fun really starts. You can blast opponents that stand in your way with the GRIP gravity weapon (often off the side of cliffs or into the sea if you position yourself right) – very handy if you are surrounded by tanks and ATV’s. A real highlight for me was liberating a base by pulling down the helicopters attacking me and smashing them into the bases antennas and radar pillars.

There will be two types on Mech for you to control and all of the content will be compatible with the main game meaning you can take the fight to Di Ravelo’s troops in your Mech or better yet call in a rebel piloted Mech buddy to back you up via the ‘Rebel Drop’ menu. Upgrades for these war machines can be gained in two new Mech Arenas on Lacrima – these consist of waves of simulated enemy attacks that should push your new combat skills to the limit.

*Mech Land Assault will be available for owners of the Air Land and Sea Expansion pass on 3rd June (release time varies between regions). The pack will be available for general release on 10th of June.

The MECH LAND ASSAULT pack is priced at $11.99 / €11.99 / £9.49 whilst the AIR, LAND & SEA Expansion Pass is available for $24.99 / €24.99 / £19.99. The final content pack – BAVARIUM SEA HEIST – will be released by the end of summer 2016, released one week early to Expansion Pass holders.
