The latest entry in our ‘Inside’ documentary series takes a look at one of the most ambitious FINAL FANTASY games ever made: FINAL FANTASY XII.

In the video, the game’s Director Takashi Katano and Producer Hiroaki Kat take a look back at the game.

They discuss the challenges of creating a seamless world that feels alive, the development of the acclaimed Gambit system, the inspirations for the amazing settings of Rabanastre and Ivalice and much more.

It’s a must-watch for any fan of the game and FINAL FANTASY as a whole.

About FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE

FINAL FANTASY XII tells a timeless story of conflict, honor and duty, set in the war-torn world of Ivalice. The kingdom of Dalmasca has been conquered by the powerful Archadian Empire.

Princess Ashe is left as the last heir to the throne, and joined by a group of misfit including orphans Vaan and Penelo, charming sky pirate Balthier, and Viera Fran, sets off on a journey to free her country from the occupying forces.

THE ZODIAC AGE edition of the game upgrades the original PlayStation 2 release with new features, and quality of life improvements, including the ability to speed up time, and a revamped job system that allows for greater specialization of roles within your party.

The Nintendo and Xbox One versions add additional improvements, such as extra options for the Gambit system and the ability to reset jobs.
