The first high-end raid for FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers is now available and ready to play for anyone looking for new challenges after completing the main scenario questline.

The new content went with Patch 5.01. Called Eden, you and your party will have to force your way through difficult battles in a new instance that… well, let’s just say some elements may be quite familiar to FINAL FANTASY fans.

It’ll be memorable challenge, not least thanks to the new character design by FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Director Testuya Nomura. Here’s a look at the new character called Gaia:

How do I start the Shadowbringers Eden Raid?

To embark on the new raid, you need to meet certain criteria:

  • You must be a level 80 Disciple of War or level 80 Disciple of Magic.
  • You must have an average item level of 425
  • You must have completed the main scenario quest for Shadowbringers

If you’ve met those criteria, you’ll be good to start the quest: ‘In the Middle of Nowhere’.

As this is one of FINAL FANTASY XIV’s 8-man raids, you’ll need some friends to join you. If you don’t have a party, you can queue via the Duty Finder once you’ve unlocked the raid.

When will the savage difficulty raid be out?

You can currently play the Eden raid at the normal difficulty level, but if you really want a even greater challenge, the savage raid is scheduled to release on 30 July 2019. Why, that’s just a few weeks away!

This savage raid will push you and your party to the limits - you’ll have to make smart use of your abilities, communicate effectively and adapt on the fly if you want to survive it.

Good luck!

FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers is out now for PC, Mac and PS4.
