The Final Fantasy Portal App is out now!

By Square Enix Team

In a previous blog post we talked about Final Fantasy VII being released on iOS but that's not the only piece of good news. We also released the English version of the Final Fantasy Portal App today!

So what is the Portal App? In a nutshell, it’s a general portal app for information on all things to do with Final Fantasy, so you can get all the latest news about Final Fantasy games, books, music, merchandise, events and more. You’ll also get access to app-exclusive promotional videos and “secret information” so be sure to check back regularly for updates.

The Final Fantasy Portal App features a points system where you can accumulate points by doing a variety of things within the app such as logging in daily, viewing news, watching videos, checking out topics among other things. You can then exchange these points for digital content such as wallpapers for your smartphone.

Are you ready to shuffle and boogie? I hope so because Triple Triad makes its mobile debut in the Final Fantasy Portal App! That’s right fellow Final Fantasy VIII fans, you can play Triple Triad on the go, on your smartphone through the Portal App! You can play against Final Fantasy protagonists in solo mode or play against other players in versus mode and with over 300 cards representing the entire Final Fantasy series, there’s plenty of game in there. Between this and Final Fantasy VII, I don’t think I’m ever going to be bored on my commute to work ever again.

As a bonus, to celebrate the launch of the Final Fantasy Portal App, you can download a special Portal App version of the original Final Fantasy for free! This is the whole game of Final Fantasy I and it’s an in-app game included within the Final Fantasy Portal App, so like Triple Triad, it can only be launched through the Portal App. The Portal App version of Final Fantasy isn’t compatible with previous versions of Final Fantasy but still, you can play the whole of the original game for free which is a really cool bonus. It’s only available until 06:59 on September 1st 2015 (UK time) so be sure to get it before then.
