Dragon Quest Heroes is out now in Europe!

By Square Enix Team

Nine years ago, the Dragon Quest franchise made its European debut back on the PS2 with Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (yes, it really was that long ago!) and this week, the franchise returns to PlayStation!

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below is out now on PS4 in Europe! It’s good to be back!

To celebrate the game's launch we’ve got a load of info for you - but before we go into the details be sure to check out the launch trailer, which you can watch below:

Dragon Quest Heroes is the first game in the franchise on PS4 and it’s also the first action RPG in the franchise as well. To make sure Dragon Quest Heroes is a proper Dragon Quest experience, the series creator Yuji Hori was very hands-on with the development of the game, alongside Koichi Sugiyama (who composed all of the music) and Akira Toriyama (the world-renowned artist who designed all the characters and monsters).

If the art style of Dragon Quest Heroes feels familiar it might be because it reminds you of his work on the Dragon Ball manga and anime which he created.

If the launch trailer wasn’t cool enough, we’ve also got some good news for those of you who like to own digital copies of games. I can confirm that as of today you can purchase/download Dragon Quest Heroes on PSN right now! There’re two different versions: the Standard Edition and the Digital Slime Collector's Edition, the latter of which comes with a load of extra in-game goodies which are listed below:

  • 9 special Slime weapons- Gold Digger’s map- Happy map- The Goolden Axe – a special Slime weapon for the character Yangus- A static Dragon Quest Heroes PS4 theme (shown below)

Thanks for reading this massive blog post and I hope you’re excited about picking up Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below. If you’ve got any questions, leave a comment and I’ll do my best to answer them!
