FINAL FANTASY XIV Online World Tour: A Realm Reborn

Before we head to the moon in Endwalker, let’s take a moment to celebrate how we got there and remember the regions that made us all the Warriors of Light we are today.

Endwalker is coming.

In just a few months, the next expansion for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online will arrive. It’s set to take players to some truly incredible new locations, such as the subterranean Labyrinthos and the distinctive stone architecture of Old Sharlayan.

Oh, and did we mention: we’re going to the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) moon!

But before we set off into the skies, we thought it would be fun to take a look at just a few of the places we’ve been. The world of Hydaelyn is vast, and its many regions offer adventures and spectacle aplenty.

We’ll start where it all begun (again): A Realm Reborn. From the hills of La Noscea to the deserts of Thanalan, these landscapes have forged heroes and made unforgettable memories. If you’re one of the many new players setting out into the land of Eorzea, here’s just a taste of what awaits you.

And if you’re a fully-fledged Warrior of Light with multiple expansions-worth of experience under your belt, get ready for a nostalgia trip!

FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker

La Noscea

Ah, La Noscea - one of the largest regions in Eorzea.

Located on the sub-continent of Vylbrand, this is a verdant land of wild grass, rocky cliffs and aspiring farms.

Of course, before you set out to explore this majestic, if dangerous, landscape, you’ll likely pass through the majestic maritime city of Limsa Lominsa.

Limsa Lominsa

Pirates, merchants, craftsmen and everything in between can make a name for themselves in this sea-swept city-state.

It’s home to numerous guilds, including the Marauder’s Guild, Arcanist’s Guild, Rogue’s Guild, Armorer’s Guild, Blacksmith’s Guild and more.

Limsa Limosa

If you’re fresh off the boat, make sure to visit the Drowning Wench. Not only does this rustic alehouse serve a satisfying drink to sailors, its owner Baderon also helps promising new heroes find their way in the bustling metropolis.

Tourists should also make time to take in the Octant. This buzzing courtyard is typically a hub of activity, full of dancing heroes, novice adventurers learning the ropes, delivery moogles and - if you’re lucky - a talented bard or two!

Heading out of Limsa Lominsa, you’ll visit amazing locations and see breathtaking views, including a formerly mighty wood now cleared for farming, sprawling orange groves and once-wonderous lighthouses struck by corrupted aether. Here is a small taste of what you can expect in this bountiful island.

Eastern La Noscea

If you’re after sun, sand and swimming, there’s no better place in Eorzea than Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea! This beautiful resort is a great place to relax and perhaps pick up a few odd jobs on the way out. Great fishing around here too.

Eastern La Noscea - Bloodshore

This region also features the chilled-out town of Wineport, famed for its vineyards. Or if you fancy getting out of the hurly-burly of modern Eorzean life, you can step into the emerging rainforest of Raincatcher Gully.

Upper La Noscea

From Upper La Noscea, you can enjoy the spectacular sight of the Wanderer’s Palace or have a rest in the Camp Bronze Lake Hot Springs.

Upper La Noscea

Outer La Noscea

Volcanoes, mines and mysterious ruins, Outer La Noscea has it all. If you have the knees for it, you should definitely attempt the Long Climb, which will take you through the beautiful remnants of the fantastical floating city of Nym.

Outer La Noscea

Thanalan

Despite the sandy starkness of its desert, Thanalan is a land of promise and prosperity - though sadly not for everyone.

Still, the mineral bounty of its land and the entrepreneurial spirit of its inhabitants have made the region an exciting and vibrant place - particularly the great city of Ul'dah.

Ul’dah

Famed for its wealth and attractions, the city of Ul’dah attracts visitors from all across Hydaelyn. Some come for the casinos and combat arena, others come for the incredible fashions… and some come seeking adventure.

Ul'Dah

Gladiators and Pugilists have a guild here, as do Alchemists and Thaumaturges. There’s strong industry to get involved in too, including Goldsmiths, Miners and Weavers!

Leaving Ul’dah will lead you to explore the desert lands of Thanalan. You’ll discover marvelous areas including train stations, ceruleum fields, and cliffs destroyed in the wake of the Calamity. Here is but a small teaser of what to expect in this sandy region.

Western Thanalan

Many heroes have spent their early careers completing tasks in this sun-soaked region, helping the embattled workers of Hammerlea and battling monsters around Horizon’s Edge. But before heading out to adventure by walking down the Eighty Sins of Sasamo, make sure you take one last look at the city itself!

The Black Shroud

The Black Shroud is a gargantuan forest region that surrounds the city of Gridania. The people of this land understand that nature is something to be both feared and respected, and despite numerous threats over the years, they and the trees continue to stand tall.

Gridania

The copious canopies of this massive city offer a home to peoples of all types. You’ll find many a craftsperson plying their trade here, from botanists to carpenters and leatherworkers.

Gridania

For many aspiring adventurers, the wooden walkways and winding waterways of Gridania were the first things they saw in Eorzea, but it’s a sight that’s stuck with them to this day. The city hosts multiple guilds, including the Lancer’s Guild, Archer’s Guild, Conjurer’s Guild and so much more.

Heading out of Gridania will lead you to discover many hidden sights hidden among the trees such as a voidsent-infested manor or one of the many remnants of the fallen Dalamud. Here is a taste of what to expect in certain areas...

East Shroud

Arriving in the East Shroud from Sweetbloom Pier, make sure to take in the impressive sights, such as the imposing Baelsar's Wall, and instantly recognizable Sanctum of the Twelve.

East Shroud

Alternatively, why not venture into the deepest part of the forest and explore the ethereal beauty of the Sylphlands, assuming you don’t lose your way inside?

South Shroud

The South Shroud is a sprawling location that has a lot to offer to creative adventurers. Quarrymill is a good place to find work, particularly for crafter/gatherers with a little experience under their belts. From there, your steps may take you to Urth’s Fount, where it is said you might encounter the Dark Divinity, Odin, itself.

South Shroud

While you’re here, be sure to take some time to enjoy the region’s unique flora and fauna… even if you’re not always sure which is which. Just remember not to smell their breath!

Mor Dhona

Mor Dhona

This unsettling, lifeless region sits between the great city states of Eorzea. Barren, and swarming with dangerous beasts, it’s somewhere only experienced travelers should explore.

The ominous figure of a fallen Dragon intertwined with the debris on an imperial airship can be seen at the center of the area - a terrifying reminder of battles past. The Mor Dhona is also home to the mysterious Crystal Tower, a key location to many adventures for the Warrior of Light…

It’s been quite a journey. From these opening areas, the world of Hydaelyn has only continued to expand, through expansions like Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and - soon - FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker.
