My personal love for Octahedron: Transfixed Edition has been well documented, but what do the critics think?
As it turns out, they really like it. The neon-soaked visuals, amazing music and unique mechanics struck a chord with many who reviewed the game. Here’s what they said:
NintendoLife - 8/10
Dom Reseigh-Lincoln from NintendoLife called out many of the great features of Octahedron, particularly the “stellar” soundtrack (he’s not wrong).
Overall, he described the game as: “A deliciously rewarding platformer, and now (it's) just that little bit better on Nintendo Switch."
TheSixthAxis - Unscored
TheSixthAxis believes Octahedron was "One of the standout indie games of 2018”, and said that found the pick up and play nature of the Transfixed Edition a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch.
GameSpace - 8/10
Ed Orr from GameSpace raved about the soundtrack, saying that tracks seemed to “fit every moment of the game exquisitely”. He also summed up Octahedron: Transfixed Edition pretty well: "Unrelenting fun at 130 bpm."

More plaudits for Octahedron came from Nintendad’s Kieran Fifield, who called it “one of the most charming, addictive and rewarding titles.”

Jordan Rudek joked that Octahedron’s like “If an action-platformer and a rave had a baby”, and… yeah, we see where’s he’s coming from. Overall, Rudek complemented the aesthetic, level variety and challenge and said he "simply could not put Octahedron down."

PixelatedGamer’s Dan Adcock as another critic who found Octahedron: Transfixed Edition’s visuals, music and gameplay made it noticeably different to other games. He summed up Octahedron as "an incredibly entertaining rhythm based platformer."

If you are yet to give Octahedron a go, you really should. With more than 50 levels, new medals and time trials and an unbelievable soundtrack from Chipzel, Monomirror, André Sobota and Derek Howell, the Transfixed Edition is definitely the way to go.
