By Square Enix Team

Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix announced today a multi-year, multi-game partnership, leading with the reveal of The Avengers project. This newly established partnership pairs the creative minds at Marvel and Square Enix for one of the most powerful alliances in interactive entertainment.

A game based on beloved Marvel heroes, The Avengers project is being crafted by Crystal Dynamics – longtime developers of the award winning Tomb Raider series – in collaboration with lauded Deus Ex developer Eidos Montréal.

“By partnering with Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal, we are now working with two of the industry’s most talented and respected game development studios to bring Marvel stories to life in ways our fans have never experienced,“ said Jay Ong, Senior Vice President, Games & Innovation, Marvel Entertainment. “The Avengers project is a perfect example of how Marvel is making games a key part of the landscape for Marvel storytelling, alongside comics, television and film. We can only do this by matching our greatest Super Heroes with the world’s top developers, such as the creative minds at Square Enix.”

“Marvel’s diverse, innovative universe has created millions of longtime fans, including all of us,” said Phil Rogers, CEO, Square Enix Americas and Europe. “It’s exciting to bring together Square Enix’s award-winning development studios with Marvel’s extraordinary storytellers to establish a new entertainment powerhouse.  This collaboration of passion and talent will craft epic, imaginative experiences allowing gamers to live out their Super Hero dreams like never before.”

The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018. That's it...
SO happy that Activision r no longer in control they ruined so many games, cant wait to see what Square Enix can do.
Cant w8!
Cannot wait for The Avengers game definitely going to play it! Also heard Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics working together on a second Marvel/Square Enix game said to focus on the Guardians of the Galaxy! Even more excited!
I'm excited to see what kind o game it will be!
I'm a big Marvel fan so I'm looking forward to see what you guys are making. Would be nice to know what kind of game you guys are making. I hope the partnership includes X-Men games. Heard that Marvel has been sabotaging mutants because Fox won't sell back the rights to make X-Men movies. Really stupid that they'd bomb one of their flagship series and punish their own fans, but money talks louder I suppose.
You do realize MhkRed that Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are being put on this project both of which did not work on developing FFXV. The team that made it is Square Enix or more specifically Square Enix's business division 2. Them putting Crystal dynamics and Eidos Montreal on this Avengers Project will not effect FFXV.
Why don't you just focus on making Final Fantasy XV a complete game first? Hmm...
So Marvel/Avengers world in Kingdom Hearts III confirmed then? Surely that must've been part of the deal. ;) I don't care too much for that part of the Marvel universe, honestly. But if we could get a Guardians of the Galaxy world in KH3 that'd be amazing.
