It’s time for one of the true stars of FINAL FANTASY to step into the limelight once again - Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! is out now for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Read on, and we'll tell you how to get it, reveal the free DLC, and even explain a little about how the game... warks (see what we did there?)

What is Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY!?

Chocobos are one of the most important parts of FINAL FANTASY - heroes like Cloud, Zidane and Tidus may be famous and all, but if you think about it, chocobos have been carrying them for years.

Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! puts the fluffy icon front and center as the lead character. It’s a reworking of 2007’s FINAL FANTASY Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon, that adds new mechanics and features that change the game dramatically.

You’ll help the bird-brained hero explore various dungeons and battle dangerous foes - but here’s the twist: the world only moves when you do. So even if you find yourself surrounded by monsters, you have plenty of time to formulate a plan.

Dungeons are randomly generated, so you’ll face a different challenge every time you play - but you won’t have to do so alone. The new Buddies system lets you befriend certain monsters, and a local co-op mode lets you play with your friends.

Plus you can gain new abilities and change outfits with the Job Change system. Ever wanted to see a chocobo cosplay as a Black Mage? Now you can!

How do I get Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY!?

Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! is available to buy as a digital download on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Any players that purchase the game from the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop will also get the Buddy Chocobo Alpha DLC item included for no extra cost.

...Is it getting a physical release? It would be nice to just have a straight yes/no answer...
