Warriors of Light - the time has come. The much-anticipated finale of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood is now out on all platforms.

The final series of main scenario quests reveal the shocking conclusion to the Stormblood storyline and set the stage for FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers, due July 2, 2019.

The upcoming expansion will see players become Warriors of Darkness, and head to Norvrandt in the First World in a quest to destroy the light.

That’s enough teasing though - for now, let’s take a closer look at what’s included in the current patch:

What’s in FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood Patch 4.56?

The patch is available to download now on all platforms - here’s a taste of what’s in it:

Yojimbo Trial Battle – Kugane Ohashi

The 8-player fight against Yojimbo that first debuted during the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival Tour 2018-2019 is now accessible to all level 70 Disciples of War and Magic. It’s an intense, challenging battle that will test even the most experienced of players - but solid tactics and teamwork should see you through.

Even Further Hildibrand Adventures

Everyone’s favourite Inspector Extraordinaire makes a triumphant return with even more cases.

Stormblood Beast Tribe Quests

This new series of quests brings together the different beast tribes from FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg - there’s also new equipment, minions, emotes and much more. You can read the patch notes here:

There’s even more to come in the next few months, including:

Adventure Jump Start Sale

One of the best things about FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, is that there’s so much to do… but if you’ve fallen behind your friends, or are still too low level for the most recent content, it can be daunting to catch up.

That’s why we’re currently holding the Adventure Jump Start Sale. There’s a 30% discount on various Tales of Adventure items that will help you get ready for the finale of Stormblood and the start of Shadowbringers.

These items let you upgrade a job of your choosing to level 60. All job quests up to that point will also be completed, and you’ll get some more powerful gear too.

You can find more information about the sale here:

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online x FINAL FANTASY XV collaboration event

On April 16, 2019, the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online x FINAL FANTASY XV collaboration begins. Originally unveiled at Fan Fest in Paris, back in February, the crossover sees Noctis Lucis Caelum arrive in the world of Hydaelyn… and he’s bringing his car with him.

Players who complete the collaboration event can get a range of FINAL FANTASY XV-themed goodies, including Noctis hairstyle, outfit and a new mount - the Regalia. Fun fact, it’s the first mount in FINAL FANTASY XIV Online that can hold four people!

The World visit system

Scheduled for April 23, 2019, Patch 4.57 will introduce the World visit system. This will let players travel to any World within their own data center - perfect if they want to play with friends in a different World.

Speaking of data centers, Patch 4.57 will launch alongside an expansion of both the European and North American data centers. For April 23 to May 6, 2019, players on the North American data center will be able to transfer their character to another World for free, to ensure they can play FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers with friends.

FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers

Planned to launch July 2, 2019, Shadowbringers expands the world of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online in a big way. As well as the epic storyline we shamelessly teased earlier, it also includes:

  • New storyline - become the Warrior of Darkness
  • New areas to explore

  • A new raid from the minds behind NieR:Automata
  • New jobs - the Gunbreaker and Dancer
