2018 Final Fantasy XIV – The FEAST Regional Championship 2018 EUROPE (the “Promotion”) Official Rules

Key Rules

  1. Official Rules: The Official Rules for this Promotion consist of both (i) these key rules summarizing the important rules for participating in the Promotion (the “Key Rules”) and (ii) the Additional Promotion Official Rules (“Additional Rules”) applicable to your place of legal residence. Please review the Additional Rules at the following URL:
  2. Territories: This Promotion is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry (the “Promotion Jurisdiction”):
    • The United Kingdom (excluding the British Overseas Territories), Germany, France (excluding Overseas France), Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Russia, Greece, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.
  3. Age Limit: This Promotion is open only to individuals 18 years of age or older at the date and time of entry.
  4. Entry Period: You may enter the Promotion only between July 3, 2018 at 10:00 (GMT) / 11.00 (BST) through August 14, 2018 at 05:00 (GMT) / 06:00 (BST) (the “Entry Period”). The exact start and finish time may change slightly due to maintenance schedules, as published on the Lodestone webpage available at the following URL: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/.
  5. Entry Procedure and Limitations: In order to enter the Promotion, you must complete the following steps during the Entry Period (and after, as applicable):
    • General Rules
      1. You must have and maintain your own active FINAL FANTASY XIV (the “Game”) European Square Enix account.
      2. You must have Game characters on the European Chaos data centre (“Chaos”).
      3. Be willing and able (both physically and legally) to travel to Paris, France to participate in the Game Fan Festival (“Fan Festival”) at the Grande Halle de La Villette from February 1, 2019 through February 4, 2019 (for example, if you reside outside of France, you must have a valid passport and may be required to have a valid visa).
      4. Form a player-versus-player team (a “Team”) consisting of between four (4) and six (6) players.
        1. To form a Team, you must form an in-Game group with a minimum of four (4) and maximum of six (6) Game players and travel in the Game to the Wolves’ Den Pier. Once there, locate and interact with the “Team Board” and select the option to “Create Team.”
        2. Each member of the Team must be eligible to enter this Promotion and must have read and agreed to the Official Rules for the Promotion before participating.
        3. Each Team must consist of at least one (1) tank (i.e., paladin, warrior, or dark knight), one (1) healer (e., White Mage, Scholar, or Astrologian), one (1) melee DPS (i.e., Monk, Dragoon, Ninja, or Samurai), and one (1) ranged DPS (i.e., Bard, Machinist, Black Mage, Summoner, or Red Mage). During a match or a round, each Team must consist of one (1) tank, one (1) healer, one (1) melee DPS, and one (1) ranged DPS.
        4. Team members may freely change jobs between rounds as long as they meet the role composition requirement.
        5. Teams may freely change PvP additional actions and traits per round.
        6. If any Team fails to have at least four (4) eligible members at any time, that Team will be disqualified.
        7. Only four (4) Team members may participate in any one match (each Team may have up to two (2) alternatives at any time).
        8. Players may participate on only one (1) Team during the Promotion.
    • Qualifying Period
      1. During the Entry Period, Teams may challenge each other (using the in-Game tools) in the Game in ranked matches to accumulate ranking points. Points are automatically accumulated through the ranked match system which populate on a leaderboard.
      2. Each match in the qualifying period consists of one round, winner take all.
      3. The six (6) Teams that acquire the most ranking points in Chaoswill advance to the semi-finals.
      4. During the qualifying period, Teams may substitute active members for alternates between matches.
    • Semi-Finals
      1. The semi-finals will take place between 16:00 (GMT) / 17:00 (BST) on 8 September 2018 and 19:00 (BST) on 9 September 2018.
      2. During the semi-finals, Sponsor will arrange two (2) round-robin tournaments in which all Teams will compete against each other in best-two-out-of-three matches (the first Team to win two (2) rounds will win the match) as follows: (i) one (1) round-robin tournament between the teams that ranked first, third and fifth during the qualifying period (“Block A”); and (ii) one (1) round-robin tournament between the teams that ranked second, fourth and sixth during the preliminaries (“Block B”).
      3. If three (3) Teams win the same number of matches in the round robin, then each Team shall play one (1) additional single-round match against each other Team. If there’s still a tie, then the first and second place winning teams will be determined based on highest, and second highest, medal count form the semi-finals.
      4. The top two (2) teams of each of Block A and Block B will advance to the finals.
      5. During the semi-finals, Teams may substitute active members for alternates between matches, but not between rounds in a single match.
    • Finals
      1. The finals will take place in person at the Fan Festival in Paris, France on or around February 2, 2019 and February 3, 2019.
      2. You must bring to the finals valid identification that matches the name and address associated with your Square Enix Account. At Sponsor’s request, you must show Sponsor valid identification that matches the name and address in your Square Enix Account.
      3. The first place Block A Team and the second place Block B Team from the semi-finals will compete against each other in a best-two-out-of- three match; the first Team to win two (2) rounds will advance to the grand finals.
      4. The first place Block B Team and the second place Block A Team from the semi-finals will compete against each other in a best-two-out-of-three match; the first Team to win two (2) rounds will advance to the grand finals.
      5. During the finals, Teams may not substitute active members for alternates.
      6. You must use a Square Enix Account provided by Sponsor during the finals; this account will contain your character data.
      7. Your Team must be physically present at Fan Festival at the dates, times, and locations provided to you by Sponsor in order to participate in the finals.
    • Grand Finals
      1. The two (2) grand finalist Teams will compete against each other in a best-three-out-of-five match; the first Team to win three (3) rounds will be the Promotion grand prize winner.
      2. During the grand finals, Teams may not substitute active members for alternates.
      3. You must use a Square Enix Account provided by Sponsor during the grand finals; this account will contain your character data.
      4. Your Team must be physically present at Fan Festival at the dates, times, and locations provided to you by Sponsor in order to participate in the grand finals.
    • Additional Terms
      1. You must comply with the following restrictions:
        1. For qualifying round and semi-final matches:
          1. You may use in-Game macros.
          2. You may not use keyboard macros relating to gaming software or gaming hardware like the Logitech G13.
        2. For finals and grand finals matches:
          1. You must only use the devices and voice chat technology provided by Sponsor and you may not use your own technology or devices.
          2. You may use in-Game macros (you will be provided with time to prepare your macros and save them into USB memory before the Finals).
      2. If a Team cannot participate in a match, chooses not to participate in a match, or otherwise indicates to Sponsor that it will not participate in match, or if a Team is disqualified during a match, for any reason, the opponent Team shall win the match by default.
      3. If a Team is disqualified during the semi-finals, finals, or grand finals (other than during a match), the next-highest-ranking eligible Team will take the disqualified Team’s place.
      4. You must adhere to the Game User Agreement and all other applicable Game/Sponsor policies and terms.
      5. You must be able to communicate in English.
      6. Boosting: You may not advertise, sell, purchase, or exchange any boosting service. You may not play for the purpose of acquiring virtual items, rewards, or advancement in game play on behalf of a third-party.
      7. Win-trading: You may not abuse matches in order to force a match result in or against your favor. This includes force disconnecting and failure to perform any actions in match.
      8. Poor Sportsmanship: You must avoid any actions or behavior inconsistent with principles of basic sportsmanship, honesty, and fair play. You must not engage in violence or use offensive language. You must not abuse game exploits, hacks, other in-game issues.
      9. You may not damage any hardware or other equipment or technology provided to you by Sponsor or Sponsor’s designee.
      10. You may not deliberately or negligently cause delays or impede the progress of the Promotion.
      11. You must not use any other person’s Square Enix Account, or permit any person to use your Square Enix Account, during the Promotion.
      12. You must not use the Promotion to obtain or generate any profit for yourself or for any anyone else other than Square Enix and its designees.
      13. You hereby acknowledge that the Sponsor will film, photograph, record, and/or livestream matches or other portions of the Promotion on the Internet and may display, reproduce, distribute, and broadcast your name, likeness, and gameplay on the livestream, on Sponsor's websites and social media channels, and elsewhere. By participating in the Promotion, you hereby grant Sponsor a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, assignable, non-exclusive license to make this use of your name, likeness, and gameplay.
      14. You must promptly comply with all posted instructions and rules, and all instructions and rules otherwise provided by Promotion staff, venue staff, or Sponsor staff, before, during, and after the Promotion.
      15. You must immediately raise all complaints and/or disputes about gameplay or Promotion procedures, or any other aspect of the Promotion, with the Promotion staff. You waive any complaints or disputes that you do not immediately raise to the Promotion staff. Promotion staff will have complete discretion to adjudicate all complaints and disputes about gameplay or Promotion procedures, or any other aspect of the Promotion.
      16. Promotion staff may alter the Promotion or Game structure, or grant variances in the Promotion or Game rules, based on the Promotion staff’s judgment and discretion in order to ensure fair play and results.
      17. Promotion staff decisions are final and cannot be further appealed or challenged.
      18. Each entrant and each Team is solely responsible for ensuring that his/her/its equipment, network connection, etc. are adequate to participate in the Promotion and are issue and interruption free.
      19. If a match during the semi-finals, finals, or grand finals, cannot be completed due to a server outage or similar technology issues related to Sponsor’s servers or technology, then the match will be null, and a rematch will be held.
      20. During the finals and grand finals, entrants may not wear clothing with visible logos or trademarks, or any sponsored clothing.
  6. Winner Selection: The Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, shall select as winners four (4) Teams of between four (4) and six (6) entrants each (so, a total of between sixteen (16) and twenty four (24) entrants) from among all entries using the methodology described above.
  7. Prize(s): The winners shall receive the following prize(s):
    • Each member of the grand prize winning team shall receive each of the following prizes:
      1. Three (3) years of FINAL FANTASY XIV game time (approximate retail value of €395.64;
      2. One (1) gaming laptop (approximate retail value of €1,700.00)
      3. One (1) gaming mouse (approximate retail value of €85.00)
      4. One (1) gaming headset (approximate retail value of €85.00)
      5. The virtual in-Game title “FRC 2018 Champion” (no monetary value)
    • In addition, each member of the four (4) finalist teams shall receive the following prizes:
      1. A trip to Paris, France to participate in the finals during the Game Fan Festival (approximate retail value of €550.00).
      2. One (1) ticket to attend the Game Fan Festival (approximate retail value of €124.99).
      3. The virtual in-Game item “FRC 2018 Finalist”(no monetary value)
    • In addition, each member of the top ten (10) Teams from the Qualifying Period will receive the following prize:
      1. The virtual in-Game title “FRC 2018 Ranker” (no monetary value)

    The trip prizes shall include:

    • Round-trip economy class ground and/or air transportation (as deemed appropriate by Sponsor having regard to the winner’s home location) for one (1) person from the winner’s home to a hotel in or near Paris, France.
    • Three nights, four days hotel accommodations in or near Paris, France. Participants may be required to share a room in hotel accommodation with other members of their Team.

    Sponsor shall not provide (i) transportation other than as expressly stated above or (ii) meals. Winners are fully responsible for all costs associated with the prizes that are not expressly stated herein. Please see the Additional Rules for more terms and conditions about trip prizes.

  8. Winner Notification: Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, will notify winner(s) of their final positions in the tournament by or about 4 February 2019 via email or in-person communication.
  9. Misc. Rules: You must follow all relevant health and safety guidelines of your video game platform (if applicable) and the following general guidelines: a) take occasional rest breaks during extended play, b) maintain a healthy sleep schedule and diet, c) avoid playing when tired or needing sleep, d) stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience any of the following: lightheadedness, nausea, motion sickness, discomfort or pain, dizziness, eye or muscle twitches, disorientation, involuntary movement, altered visions, loss of awareness, seizures, convulsion, or any other negative physical or mental effects or conditions.
  10. Sponsor: The sponsor of this Promotion is Square Enix Limited.

By entering the Promotion, you agree to be bound and abide by these Key Rules and the Additional Rules applicable to your place of legal residence, and you represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements to enter the Promotion.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS PROMOTION. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. YOU MUST HAVE LEGALLY ACQUIRED ACCESS TO FINAL FANTASY XIV PRIOR TO THE LAUNCH OF THE PROMOTION.
